This past November the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival celebrated their 40th anniversary with nine days of stories covering profound journeys, unexpected adventures and ground breaking expeditions told by renowned authors, photographers, adventurers and filmmakers from around the globe. After the festival ends, the World Tour heads out the door for more than 1,000 screensings all over the world – from Bulgaria to Boston and all places in between. One of those in-between places is Charlottesville.
All proceeds from this year's event benefit the Shenandoah National Park Trust to support conservation, education and restoration work in Shenandoah National Park. The film festival takes place in the historic Paramount Theater on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall. Tickets are $16 for each night in advance, and $18 per nighy at the door.
The World Tour includes a sampling of the films from the Banff event. Each day's screening is a unique listing. This year's line-up includes:

Climbing Ice: The Iceland Trifecta
The Last Dragons
Reel Rock: A Line Across the Sky
